HEALTH
There are a total of 21 hospitals in the islands of Palawan. Some are private , some are goverment run. Amongst the 21 there are specialist hospitals for pregnancy etc.
There are also a number of clinics and chemists and doctors are available in the towns and cities.
No specific precautions need to be taken except that large parts of Palawan is jungle and very remote from medical facilities , so additional care must be taken when travelling through the more desolate areas.

SAFTEY
Palawan is a safe place to visit , but as with anywhere common sense is important to keep safe.
Make sure you have where possible a guide if travelling through the more remote areas. Respect the locals space and culture.
