The main island of Palawan and its islands are known as 'The Last Frontier', so as the name suggests you wont find a Subic Bay, Manila, or Angeles City type of environment or night-life.

Puerto Princesa, the capital, has its share of bars and entertainment venues , but elsewhere in the Islands , the entertainment will be provided by your Hotel or Resort.
If you desire bikini bars , cinemas , theatres , and shopping malls, apart from the Capital , you will be largely disappointed.

Puerto Princesa has around 6 bars that you can call 'girlie bars' with around 30 girls working at each place. The bars that seem to be most popular are :-
We are not sure how safe these are for foreigners , so some local advice would be the order of the day if you are there already.
Outside of the capital the entertainment seems to be mainly provided by your resort or hotel.
So in summary if its party , party , party you want , don't go to Palawan.
If you enjoy drinks and laughs with your friends in a small bar or at your hotel bar then you will enjoy what Palawan has to offer, which is natural beauty, rugged landscape and some of the best water sports in S.E Asia.

There are some very nice restaurants of which Kinabuch comes recommended, in the capital and even away from Puerto Princesa you will find many, out of the way, venues where the food is delicious .Dont, however, expect Western food to be readily available outside of the resorts and hotels. Maybe this is your chance to sample the many Filippino dishes that are available.

Again , as Palawan is not known for its nightlife, you wont find big concert venues, theatres etc as you would find in Manila.
Live music however is everywhere in the Philippines and its easy to find a restaurant with live music or a bar with a live band.
The Malls, although not on the scale as Asia Mall in Manila , are a favourite place for Filippinos to hang out, and you will find cinema screens here which are good quality establishments.
Check out the local hotel notices, and press for Cultural shows and dancing, these are always great to watch and give you an insight into the Philippine lifestyle.
