Palawan - Hotels & Resorts

Palawan is probably the most underdeveloped of the larger Philippine Islands, with large sections of it inaccessible without 4 wheel drive vehicles , and even areas that are only accessible by boat. This is the reason that the islands that make up Palawan are known widely as ' the last frontier'.

If you are looking for accommodation , then the list is endless unless you require 'high end' accommodation which , if so, will entail you staying in the capital city of Puerto Princesa or travelling to El Nido for the biggest concentration of 'higher rated' hotels/resorts.
Having said that , the biggest attraction to Palawan is the ' back to nature' feeling that the Palawan archipelago has to offer,so many of the resorts offer high standard, but basic, rustic accommodation usually right on the seashore.
Many are made from bamboo which makes them incredibly cool , as they depend on natural breezes from the sea wafting through the huts.
If you travel and stay outside the main city and resort areas , then be prepared for the power to be interrupted from time to time and even in some areas the electricity is turned off in the evening hours as some smaller resorts don't have their own back up generators.
Having stayed in rather remote areas of Palawan over the years ,the lack of electricity didn't distract from the natural beauty and overall enjoyment of visiting such a beautiful island.
