Angeles has a reputation for being a safe place to visit but like all bar areas where drinking and partying is the name of the game there is always the chance of minor problems unless you take care and use common sense.
The tourist police have a high profile in Angeles especially around the bar areas. and the bar owners are quick to aleviate the chance of any trouble.
