HISTORY & CULTURE OF ANGELES CITY
Angeles City was formely known as Kulait and was a barrio of San Fernando.
It separated, and became an independent town in 1892 , but it wasn't
until 1964 that it was officially inaugurated as a chartered City.
Angeles City and Clark Airport in particular was the site of the biggest American air force base outside the USA until it closed in 1991.
Also in 1991 the nearby volcano called Mount Pinatubu erupted, causing much damage which many people thought Angeles would not survive.
This was instrumental in the USA closing its Airforce base there, which had a massive effect on the population and the Cities financial well being.
