Cebu is already a popular place for British Expats along with Americans , Australians and other Westerners. This is because it has a more relaxed atmosphere than Manila, is cheaper than Manila , and although being a major business and commerce district it is also very close to marvelous beaches , great diving sites , good sports facilities and is known for some of the most beautiful ladies in the Philippines..
Known as the Queen of the Philippines , Cebu is well served by international flights and ferry services making travelling around the world and the Philippines easy.
Major banks , Shopping Malls and other srvices and business are here, so as a place to relocate to , you can see it has everything you could want. It is also only an hour flight to Manila should you require to go on business or for private trips.
The usual apartments are available to rent or buy and there are probally more choice of houses to rent and buy should you wish to than in Manila as Cebu is more open planned and not as restricted for space as Manila . A lot of new housing developments ( housing estates are known as SUBDIVISIONS in the Philippines) have been, and continue to be, built with western customers in mind. Many Westerners marry Fiippina women and they are allowed to buy land as long as its the wife's name that is on the Deed of Ownership

There is a British Expat forum on the internet called Cebu Britclub which offers support and advice on everything to do with living in the Philippines and Cebu in particular , as well as just being there for general chat and news. There are other forums dealing with living in the Philippines such as Retire in the Philippines but Cebu Britclub is geared to British Citizens and their Spouses with an interest in Cebu and the Philippines in general. Our opinion is that Cebu should be high on your list as a possible place to relocate to if a city lifestyle with a relaxed atmosphere and all the facilties you will need are the type of requiremnets you need.
