General Info About CEBU
The island and city of Cebu is only a 1 hour flight from Manilla and is regarded as the most important area outside Manilla for commerce, tourism and culture with its regular flights to and from many international destinations.Ferry services operate to many of the islands from Cebu and the popular island of Bohol is only a couple of hours away by fast ferry.
Cebu is a very cosmopolitan area as its very popular with British and other Western nationalities as one of the places of choice to both visit and retire . It even has its on Yahoo Group forum named Cebu Britclub for expats and visitors fron the UK that want to converse with like minded British nationals on a wide variety of topics on the internet. Some of the members have lived or visited the Philippines for many years so they have an immense amount of knowledge that they are only too willing to share with intersted Brits. Cebu has everything you would wish from a major City , and is very accessible . Cebu has a more relaxed and open atmosphere than Manilla , but has all the usual shopping , entertainment , travel , and vacation requirements to meet most of your needs.
