RENT YOU OWN ISLAND FROM 10000 PESOS
Club-Panga is a new operation based on
Mactan Island that leans more
towards eco-tourism. It has it's own small Island called Panga off the NW of
Bohol, which is ideal for groups. This is not Boracay, no umbrellas, loungers,
waiters, strangers etc. Just a beautiful
little
sandy beach island surrounded by mangroves, natural and unspoilt.
It's your own exclusive
desert
island for a day. Only one hour from Mactan in Club-Panga's small fast
motor
boats. A fresh fish and shellfish feast is included in the price.
Club.Panga also has a variety of one day trips into the rivers of Bohol
e.g. Inabanga and to islands such as Caohagan where the famous quilts are made,
you can even go to the Chocolate Hills without staying overnight in
Bohol.
There is also the option of renting the whole island
for the day if you provide your own transportation there and back (boat) and
your own food/refreshments. P10,000 for exclusive use (your group is the only
one on the island) or non-exclusive P5,000. No limit on numbers within reason.
The island is 20 miles from Mactan (closer if going from
Cordova), off the NW coast of Bohol near the mouth of the Inabanga
river.
Club-Panga daytrip options:
Most of our Bohol day trip options will include a stopover on Panga Island
for refreshments. Our low draft motor boats and canoes are able to
access the shallow waters at almost all stages of the tide to bring
guests into one of the four Bohol river systems.
Campuhat river
The village here hosts the best eatery for miles, feast on local produce
ranging from oysters, crabs, shrimps, fish, squid and fruit - a gourmet’s
delight. The locals have developed a visitor attraction which includes a short
canoe trip and spectacle, followed by a feast, local dancers and observing local
weavers etc.
Inabanga river
Probably the largest of the local rivers. The town of Inabanga has a
delightful old Spanish church and fish market, a lovely little Bohol
town.
Caohagan Island
Located on the Olango reef, where most of the women on the island have been trained to
make bed quilts depicting very colourful scenes of local life. The average quilt
takes about three months to make, uses over two kilometres of thread and is
entirely hand stitched.
Pampang
Lovely little coastal village, with small zoo - monkeys, crocodiles,
ostriches, deer and a variety of different indigenous birds. A visit here will
be combined with some of the other options.
Day trip to Chocolate hills (including Tarsiers)
We boat the guests to Bohol where they are then transported by minibus or
jeepney to see the Chocolate Hills, Bohol’s renowned domed geological
attractions, lunch at the visitor centre and be back in time for our daily return
boat trip to
Cebu.
Other activities:
Sailing
Never tried? Now's your chance. Spend two and a half hours sailing from
Cordova to Panga, then relax for the rest of the day after a BBQ
lunch and return to Cordova at the end of the day by motorboat. You also have
the option of sailing back to Cordova if you would prefer.
Kayaking and Canoeing
For the slightly more energetic, there is the opportunity to explore the
coastal waters, numerous rivers, hidden creeks, channels and the occasional
surprise in our range of single and double kayaks.
Fishing
Day and night fishing in the river estuaries for mangrove snapper or on the
reefs for grouper, snapper and the numerous other species which proliferate
there. There’s even a chance to catch your own dinner. Handlines and bait, etc.
are provided.
River boat trips
For our less active guests we have a range of day trips into one of the
rivers just to take in the scenery which usually includes a stop at a local
eatery where one can gorge on shrimps, oysters, crabs, freshwater crayfish,
local fruit, etc.
Snorkelling
On one of the local reefs where the corals and sea life are
definitely worth seeing
We make no guarantees as to what you may see on a Club-Panga
Experience, because we are dealing with mother nature,
but some of the unexpected surprises that have appeared during our trips are –
dolphins, whales, sharks, turtles, crabs and many species
of birds.
LATEST NEWS - We are starting to construct our very own seawater fly fishing pool on the island for the the exclusive use of our guests. Announcements will be made here where when completed.
