Getting There - Flights To The Philippines
** BE AWARE**
If you are expecting to stay longer than the allowed 21 days that a British passport allows without a visa ,make sure that you obtain a visa that covers the covers the FULL length of your stay in the Philippines.
In recent times there has been a change in the procedures at check in at airports in the UK. Most airlines will not allow you to fly if your visa does not cover you for the FULL period until the date of your return ticket from the Philippines
In the past airlines have only required you to have a return ticket ( which is still relevant) to allow you to fly. If you intended to stay longer than the 21 days allowed on a normal passport then visitors could extend their stay by obtaining an visa extension.Therefore many travellers would book their return flight for longer than the 21 days from arrival and just extend their visa.
If you dont have the correct visa ( only required for stays over 21 days) , you may well be refused permission to fly.
Visas for upto 59 days can be obtained for the Philippine Embassy in London.

Travelling with these airlines will entail at least one other airline to
complete your journey. The average journey time from Uk
to Manila is
approximately 16 hours with additional time at
whichever connecting airport the airline you are travelling with uses.
Always check the layover time at the connecting airport before you book your
flight. Although you migh be temptedt go for the cheapest
flight, if you have a stopover of 6 hours and even sometimes a lot
longer which will mean you either getting a room overnight or sleeping at the airport,
this add significantly to the arduous journey. The result will be that it will
take you a few days just to recover from your flight . I personally prefer to
pay an extra£100 or so and have a better travelling experiance. Always the
choice is yours. All I suggest is that you check it all out first before you
buy.
